An exotic blend of natural fibres that creates a woven fabric with a lovely lustre. It's natural color is a soft grey and can be likened to a linen look.
Yak down has been used extensively by the textile industry as an alternative to other fine animal fibres since the 1970s. The fine inner down hair is made into yarn that is comparable to cashmere. Fabric made from yak down is known to have better lustre than wool and provides a high degree of heat insulation.
Each yak produces only about 100 gms of hair a year, combined with hemp and bamboo this indeed a very prized fabric.
This fabric has been pre-washed to reduce shrinkage and we recommend a further wash prior to end use.
Check the care instructions for bamboo fabrics.
Ideal for shirts, skirts, shorts or line with 100% Bamboo Woven for suits, trousers & jackets.
As featured in April 2011, Australian Home Beautiful.
