Hot on the heels of winning the Annual Momentum Energy 3AW Small Business Success Award for Innovative Business, local Melbourne Mum and EcoSleep Australia founder Jane Tepper, is frantically packing her bags for the requested rush launch of her award winning, eco-friendly, Coshee® bedding range in the US next month.
“I was thrilled to win the Award and getting an unexpected call to launch Coshee® with our agent via the ABC Kids Expo is a real bonus” said Jane who designed Coshee® to ease the daily grind of bed making and the huge task of washing five quilt covers for her family.
Coshee®, short for cover sheet, is a world first innovation in bed linen. It is a top sheet and quilt cover that clip together to reduce bed making time to seconds. With no messy top sheet and the unique clip system, a Coshee® makes bed making with that perfect folded back appearance, a breeze for everyone in the family. Because a Coshee® protects the inner quilt and quilt cover and the clip-on sheets can be quickly interchanged, it also saves on washing and household energy.
“As a busy Mum, trying to balance work and family, I knew there had to be a quicker and easier way to bed making and washing heavy quilt covers. Designing Coshee® involved the whole family trying different ideas and having a say in what worked best for them. So Coshee® is “Quick and easy to use for everyone” explained Jane who also insisted on using eco-friendly, non allergenic materials and processes in Coshee’s® production including bamboo cotton and cotton sateen.
According to an ASCIA-Access Economics Report:
- Australia has among the highest prevalence of allergic disorders in the developed world with more than 20% of the population having at least one allergic disease
- 1 in 14 adults and 1 in 10 children suffer from eczema
- 1 in 10 adults and 1 in 5 children suffer from asthma
- In Australia there is a lack of appreciation of the impact of allergic disorders on quality of life.
“Bedding materials are often associated with allergies so I wanted our EcoSleep product range to make life easier for allergy sufferers as well. Bamboo is a beautiful bedding fabric. It is an all natural, renewable, hypo allergenic fibre that is not only soft on your skin but wonderful for those with allergies.” Jane said. “Both our natural cotton and bamboo/cotton mix are made under an Oeko-Tex rating that ensures there are no added chemicals in the manufacture process so you know the materials are a healthier choice.”
Right now though, it is a case of “all hands to the sheets” as she frantically arranges her Coshee® bed linen for both children and adults for the US in October to be followed up with a European release shortly after.
“Coshee also recently won a Top 10 Products Award at the International Home Textile and Furnishing Fair in Hong Kong but it seems both Europe and the US have really picked up on the Coshee® design and are leading the way with consumer interest and demand for eco-friendly products that will give back time to every busy household” said Jane.
